Joseph and The Battle for Spiritual Survival
In this week’s Torah portion, Miketz, we read how Joseph was elevated from a slave and prisoner to second-in-command of Egypt. One of Joseph’s first acts of leadership was to prepare for an impending famine by collecting, storing, and distributing grain.
Bread is a metaphor for the Torah. Just as bread nourishes the body, the Torah nourishes the soul.
Today, we are experiencing a spiritual famine. Jews and non-Jews alike are searching for meaning in life and a connection to something higher. Unfortunately, many distractions and false ideologies lead people astray.
Now more than ever, we must step up as leaders and emulate Joseph by storing the wisdom of Torah within ourselves and sharing it with others. Each of us has a role to play in ensuring Jewish continuity and survival.
Jews for Judaism plays a vital role in this mission. Through our educational materials, videos, and social media outreach, we strengthen countless Jews and non-Jews with knowledge, pride, and courage.
I invite you to partner with us by supporting this critical work. Time is running out to take advantage of our dollar-for-dollar matching donation campaign, where every contribution is doubled by four of our generous supporters.
