Jews for Judaism International, Inc. was established in 1979, in Los Angeles, California.

Our mission is to counteract the multi-million dollar efforts of deceptive cults, Jews for Jesus and radical evangelical Christian missionaries who target Jews for conversion. At the same time we seek to demonstrate the beauty, warmth and spirituality of Judaism.

Our office is staffed by Rabbi Bentzion Kravitz, Peri Devaney and a number of part-time and volunteer staff.

For 25 years, Jews for Judaism International has been dedicated to ensuring Jewish survival. We are the leading community response to the multi-million dollar efforts of missionary and cult groups that target Jews for conversion. We keep Jews Jewish through:

  • One-on-one counseling services that rescue individuals involved with missionaries and cults.
  • Proactive educational programs that inoculate and inspire.
  • CPR – Community Prevention and Response programs for communities invaded by missionary crusades.
  • Seminars for Intermarried couples targeted by “Messianic” proselytizing.
  • Information dissemination on college campuses, festivals, and through our websites.
    · Shabbat and Holiday hospitality.

Jewish Community Foundation Grant

Marvin Schotland (l), President and CEO of The Jewish Community Foundation, presents Rabbi Bentzion Kravitz, Executive Director of Jews for Judaism, with a $25,000 check in support of the organization’s strategic planning project

JEWISH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AWARDS

JEWS FOR JUDAISM $25,000 FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING

The Jewish Community Foundation has awarded a 2005 New & Innovative Strategic Planning Grant of $25,000 to Jews for Judaism International.

Strategic Planning grants are given by the Foundation to nonprofit organizations in the Los Angeles community. These grants support the development of a multi-year strategic plan for the purpose of increasing an organization’s capacity to provide services for clients, attract funding, develop quality programming, and consider the impact of current social, demographic and economic trends on long term organizational planning. The grant will help Jews for Judaism translate their long-term vision into a more focused strategic plan for the staff and board. It will also outline the ways in which Jews for Judaism can deliver their message to the Los Angeles Jewish community and define how best to respond to missionary efforts that are insidious and deceptive.

Jews for Judaism will begin the first phase of its strategic plan in November of 2005. Subsequent components of the plan will request input from the Jewish community in the form of surveys and focus groups.

Jews for Judaism is the leading community response to the multi-million dollar efforts of cults and deceptive missionaries targeting Jews for conversion. The organization is endorsed by all denominations of Judaism. Its successful life-saving Crisis Counseling services reunite families and its inspiring Educational Programs increase Jewish pride and teach critical thinking skills.

Established in 1954, the Jewish Community Foundation is the largest manager of charitable assets and the leader in planned giving solutions for Greater Los Angeles Jewish philanthropists. The Foundation currently manages assets of more than $550 million and according to the National Foundation Center, ranks among the ten largest Los Angeles foundations (based on assets). In 2004, The Foundation and its 1,000-plus donors distributed $43 million in grants to more than 1,300 organizations whose programs span the range of philanthropy.
